What a magical evening it was at Pūtahi Park, as Whangārei lit up in celebration of Diwali – the Festival of Lights!

The park came alive with colour, music, dance, and the joyful spirit of togetherness.

The stage shone bright with captivating live performances from:

1️⃣ Abhinayaa India Dance Academy – India through the lens of Bollywood

2️⃣ Whangarei Indian Dance Academy (WIDA)

3️⃣ Nur Belly Dance.

Each performance added its own rhythm, grace, and sparkle — beautifully showcasing the diversity and talent within our community.

The festivities continued with a mouth-watering range of food and market stalls, including:

Authentic Flavours, Nora’s Lutong Bahay, Hare Krishna Food for Life, Mr Whippy, Shay’s Sweet Treats (Chocolate), My Kitchen on Wheels, Shiraz Indian Restaurant, Balinese Food, and Rabin Ranji – Whangārei Marthoma Church Fundraising.

Guests also enjoyed exploring creative and cultural stalls from Chawla’s Beauty, Women Fashion by Ramandeep, Hennapriya by Vaanipriya, and Sakshi – Straps and Stories.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating love, light, and community spirit — making Whangārei Diwali 2025 an unforgettable evening of joy and togetherness.
